Boram Um was born in São Paulo to Korean immigrants. His journey with coffee began on his family's farm, where he took on the responsibility of ensuring the coffee's quality.
In 2016, Boram opened a coffee shop. Faced with the challenge of finding a barista, he decided to become one himself, embarking on a career as a barista.
He has a deep-rooted passion for showcasing Brazilian specialty coffee on the global stage. Since 2019, Boram has participated in the World Barista Championships, achieving 16th place in 2021, 7th place in 2022, and ultimately winning the championship in 2023. He was also the back-to-back Brazilian Barista Champion for three years.
Today, Boram owns and manages seven coffee shops in São Paulo. Each success represents a significant stride toward establishing Brazilian coffee on the global map.

● Carefully pour the ground coffee into the filter basket.
● Use a tamper to press down the coffee to ensure the coffee is evenly distributed and compacted.
● If using the CASABREWS CM5418, you might use 7-9 grams for a single cup or 13-15 grams for a double shot.
● Place the portafilter handle securely into the designated port on the coffee machine. Ensure it is locked into place to prevent any leaks during the brewing process.
● Press the single or double button on the coffee machine.
● With a 20 BAR Italian pressure pump, delivering consistent pressure throughout the brewing process, enhancing the smoothness and richness of coffee.
● If using the CASABREWS CM5418, you might get 30-50 ml espresso for a single cup, or 60-100 ml for a double shot.
● Pour the cold milk into a stainless steel pitcher.
● Place the steam wand into the milk pitcher. Ensure the steam wand tip is just below the surface of the milk.
● Turn on the steam wand to start emitting steam.
● With CASABREWS CM5418, it will heat the milk to 70 degrees Celsius in just 75 seconds, creating rich and frothy milk foam.
● Tilt the cup at about a 45-degree angle.
● Slowly pour a small amount of milk foam into the center of the coffee.
● As you continue pouring, move your wrist subtly and guide the foam into shapes like hearts, leaves, or other intricate designs.
